The American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians - Nevada Chapter represents practicing osteopathic family physicians, osteopathic family medicine residents and osteopathic medical students interested in the specialty of osteopathic family medicine in the Silver State. Osteopathic Family Physicians have the distinctive degree of DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine). They specialize in holistic and comprehensive primary care. They are specially trained to use their hands to diagnose and treat the entire patient, giving particular attention to the musculoskeletal system. Sometimes they may employ Osteopathic Manipulative Treatments (OMT) to correct somatic dysfunctions to help alleviate pain and expedite the the body's healing process.
